Kumudu and Alex studied at Pepperdine University in Malibu, alas began their love story. It was such an honor to photograph their Engagement Portraits in the very area they spent the beginning of their love story.
We began at the Malibu Nature Preserve which by the way is…. STUNNING!! We couldn’t have asked for a better evening, Kumudu showed up in this chic rust color dress and heels and Alex looking very dapper as well. Kumudu got her hair and makeup done by Tokiko with Kohnur Premier Bridal Beauty and she looked absolutely gorgeous as she always does!
While at the Nature Preserve, as we walked around, Kumudu shared with me that spiders are not her friends, ha! So when we ventured off into the fields, we would have Alex go Spider hunting for us to ensure things were ok. As we were out there one of the times, Kumudu streaked and jumped on Alex and wrapped her legs all the way around him because she thought there was a spider below, We all laughed, well Alex and I did, and of course I caught it on camera! They were both good sports and managed to somehow forget about the little creepy crawlies below and gave us some beautiful imagery!
We then ventured off to the El Matador Beach in Malibu with its stunning arch and rock formations and that gorgeous warm Malibu sunshine. There was quite the crowd when we arrived and so it was a challenge to make it look like know one else was there but I think we did alright 😉 They played and walked and soaked it all in. My faves were the last few, truly shows how much fun they have together!
I CANNOT wait until their wedding in Portland at the Portland Art Museum this September with Katy at Bridal Bliss and the rest of the amazing team!
