Heather and Ben share a love for books and art and they love Portland, Oregon! in the midst of planning their destination wedding, they chose the Portland Art Museum which couldn’t have been more perfect for their reception. They also loved the quaint Old Church in Portland for their wedding ceremony. So many of their family and friends came from afar and their sweet little flower girls had the BEST British accents I have ever heard! it was such a blast getting to just chat with them and hear all about their first trip to the states. Heather and Ben also had their pup Willougbhy sitting with them up at the alter, looking so dapper with his bow tie.
Firstly, Heather seriously looked like a princess, her gown was insanely gorgeous and she had some of my favorite bridal details! And ofcourse looked very dapper in his Charles Tyrwhitt Suit.
Once they said their I-do’s they and their wedding party was picked up by Double Decker bus and driven around downtown Portland while the guests arrived at the Art Museum preparing for a fun entrance with flower petals (environmentally safe, don’t worry) thrown at them. It was so fun and they were all smiles as they walked by guests throwing these at them.
Having portraits taken in the Art Museum library and the art museum itself were high on their priority list so they reserved some time in both locations so we can roam free throughout and take some beautiful portraiture. I had never seen the library so I was really excited about the opportunity to get in there, they really were in their element while walking through there. While we headed over to the art museum exhibit to capture some more portraits, We decided to take our time in there until they were ready for the grand entrance and Kim from Your Perfect Bridesmaid gave us a few extra moments. So while we were waiting, we cam across this amazing light installation by Jeppe Hein and a bench right in front, so ofcourse I had them sit and enjoy, get off their feet for a few moments and absolutely love the art we created looking at art.
It was truly an incredible day with some of the kindest people, and I am honored to have been chosen to photograph their wedding. Hugs!
