When I first walked into the new swanky downtown Portland venue; Everett West, I was in love! the shiny cement floors, the gorgeous big windows for that natural light I crave. And then when you walk further in, there is a large striking light fixture really giving it that perfect modern touch. The talented ladies from CK Events designed the shoot with winter elements matching the modern surroundings like rich velvet, creams, emerald green, black and gold. Blüm designed some gorgeous floral pieces for the tables capes and the brides bouquet with silk ribbon hanging from the bouquet. Classic Vintage Rentals brought in some amazing pieces that truly complimented the space and brought out different ideas on how to use the space for events and weddings.
Let me tell you about the stunning couple John and Mallory who are in fact madly in love and were a dream to photograph and Im thinking this is not the last time I see them in front of my camera 😉 John and I worked together at a wedding last summer and he was telling me all about his beautiful girlfriend Mallory and the love he has for her and when the planning for this shoot came about, I instantly thought of them for it. It was PERFECT!
It is rare that I photograph a styled shoot simply because of the beautiful craziness of my life but Im thinking this needs to be an annual thing for sure because photographing the way you want and surrounded by amazing talented people is always a dream. Getting that creative outlet is very important not only for your sanity but also to learn. I am constantly drawn to learning and keeping up with current trends, it is so important and I’m thankful for opportunities to do shoots like this.
